There is a set of tissues called frenulum under the tongues. If the frenulum is too short or too long a problem called tongue-tie occurs. This is also known as onkyloglossia.

In media, experts say that tongue-tie occurs only when the frenula tissue prevents the baby from moving it’s tongue in a specific way that’s why experts say that babies may have frenula tissue all the way up to their tongue tip and this problem can be seen easily. There are two kinds of tongue-tie. Front and back. Front tongue-tie are on the tip of the tongue adn easy to spot. Back tongue-ties are on the back and they are tgick. İt is hard to spot because of it’s location under a layer in the mouth.
Does tongue-tie prevent breastfeeding?

Tongue-tie treatment is done by cutting a peice of skin under the tongue. Doctors cut this piece with a simple surgical operation.
In this operaton the tongue is lifted up and the frenula tissue is pulled and cut by sharp tipped scissors. Thşs application may vary among doctors.
